Z salon

My favorite place to get my hair done in Tokyo is Z Salon. Mr. Satoh, the owner and head stylist, has created a cozy getaway for the busy Tokyo girl to transport and transform herself. The interior has a retro-modern charm with antique barbershop chairs and vintage knick-knacks adding warmth to the white cube-like space. Once you get settled in you start with the best shampoo/head massage you have ever had, after which Mr. Satoh will give you the best haircut you have ever had, after which he will personally style the best hairdo you have ever had into the perfect coif with shiny hair clips as necessary. One time he put little pink pins with tiny rhinestone bows in my hair. He knows my tastes so well and always teases my hair in the back because he knows that I pine for perfect sixties French girl hair. On top of the world-class haircuts it's the attention to such details that keep me coming back for more.
